Previous Next Bella

Early in 2009, an evil bastard named Frank Coppola of Staten Island beat to death his girlfriend's three year old five pound chihuahua, Bella.

He informed his girlfriend and the veterinarian that Bella "ran into a wall," but the vet's necropsy showed Bella had died with five broken ribs, a damaged eye, and had bled into her lungs from a burst jugular vein. Coppola was arrested on charges of felony and misdemeanor animal cruelty and released on $2,500 bail.

The dog's owner Melissa DePietro said, "People tried to warn me he was jealous of Bella." It never crossed her mind that he was capable of harming such a little creature, though she'd run away or been turned loose on a previous occasion under his care.

Melissa addmited, "My dog didn't like him," though Bella was friendly with almost everyone else. Bella left two orphaned puppies, Brutus and Giselle.
