The cartoon series Krypto the Super Dog (2005-2006) was co-produced by D.C. Comics and Warner Brothers. It lasted two seasons, and gave rise to a six-issue comic book series based on the telescripts.

Krypto was Superboy's dog and came to Earth in a Kryptonian space capsule. Originally he came as a puppy that was in the same capsule with baby Kal El. But his origin was changed a bit in that he arrived on Earth already a full grown dog, having accidentally launched himself in an experimental capsule.

The cartoon series additionally features guest-superpet Mammoth Mutt (voiced by Kelly Sheridan). She is an inflatable chihuahua who has the ability to expand herself into an enormous powerful ball.
