Long before Disney sprung upon the world Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008), they'd made for their television series Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color a telefilm, Pablo, and the Dancing Chihuahua (1968), which first airing in two parts on consecutive Sundays.

It regards the long journey across the border into the United States, of an orphaned Mexican boy who escapes customs officials, in order to continue his search for his uncle, having with him his pet chihuahua Chiquita.
