Previous Next Couple's Death

In July of 2010, in Callaway, Florida, investigators checking on the well-being of an elderly couple found them dead.

In the house shown above, Iris Eneido Chesley, 61, lay dead on the bed of the master bedroom, and Alfred E. Chesley, 70, lay dead beside the toilet, where he had apparently been vomiting.

There were two chihuahuas in the house and one of them stood beside Alfred's body devotedly guarding him. The other was ill, laying by the patio door, and had also been vomiting.

The air in the home was tested and no toxic gases were found. The cause of the deaths was not known, though almost certainly something the couple ate, and shared with at least one of the dogs. The chihuahuas were taken to Parkway Animal Control.
