Mimi Acosta

   

   

"Voyage of the Moon" by Seattle artist Mimi Acosta posted this 19 May 1994, including a quick note on the address side happy to report she was heading off to Italy three days later. Much of Mimi's mail art, like this representative sample, is very ornately collaged from numerous paper bits (this one also incorporates a small green tile). She has afterward laminated it with clear strapping tape, which is not archival & will in the long run destroy the collage, but has done it no harm up to the year 2003.

It is shown here about half its actual size. Oh, & on the address side, every letter & number in the address was done with a rubber stamp lettering kit, one letter at a time.
