A lovely collage from Nancy, postmarked 22 Aug 1994. This card was in response (evidently) to one I'd sent her on the visual theme of emotional or physical agony. So Nancy on the message side of her card wrote a poetic bit entitled "What Hurts? I Loved Your Card. As for we who love to be astonished..." & then the following poem:

pain?
or fear of the pain?
fear?
or the dream of fear?
words?
or the noise of the unspoken?
art?
or the end of pain?

I have no recollection if I was really in a pique of angst in August 1994, but if I was, this card would certainly have perked me up.
