November portraits of
Butternut Winter Hazel

Winterhazel

The Butternut Winter Hazel, sheltered against high winds
underneath a native Vine Maple, does not always
put on the best autumn show, as it can range from
brown to bright yellow, & some years the brown will
dominate. But it was quite lovely in November 2003.

Winterhazel

Even after these last leaves fall,
its twigs will silhouette dramatically against the
white wall of the house.

Corylopsis paucifloral page.
