Franchett's Cotoneaster

Cotoneaster

Franchett's cotoneaster is a large upright shrub. It is semi-evergreen,
with perhaps half its leaves turning bright orange in autumn,
& falling by the end of winter, with the other half of the leaves
remaining green & lasting another year. The shrub is also
thick with winter berries, but this photo from October (2004)
highlights only the leaf color, & is a close-up of an underbranch
too deeply shaded by the rest of the shrub to have berries.

More can be read about this shrub on the main
