Garden Walk
of Bark & Limbs in Winter

Sweet Cherry Tree

Cherry

Prunus avium is the sweet cherry from which the
finest fruits are obtained. We planted two saplings
when we first bought the house & they grew with
amazing rapidity. The lovely grey bark sometimes develops
a reddish sheen in winter, & there is further color
in the shaded undersides of major branches
from algae or micro-moss.
