This is a May portrait of the Double-Whip Cobra Lily.
The most remarkable feature of this variety
is the long whipcord under the spathes long hood.

   

   

This slightly earlier May portrait shows the
"jack's" whip-tongue lifted up
above the flower by the leaves.
