November portraits of
Fagus sylvatica 'Black Swan'

Black Swan

Earlier in autumn the leaves of the 'Black Swan' beach are of
many colors, with some of the leaves still purple-black (their
whole color in summer) but others having faded to green,
copper, purple-brown, & other shades. By November
however the whole tree is yellow & gold-brown.

Black Swan

These handsome colors last the whole month but by December
the leaves will be brown & crisp. The browned leaves will
cling to the limbs in winter until the first high wind.
